Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills

Understanding DBT Skills

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an approach that helps young people develop practical skills to manage emotions, cope with difficult situations and improve relationships.

DBT skills can help children and teenagers recognise and understand their emotions, tolerate distress, practise mindfulness and communicate their needs more effectively. These skills can be adapted to each young person's age, strengths and individual needs.
